In keeping with its mission as a public law school, the University of Cincinnati is proud of its ability to provide a premier legal education at an affordable value for its students.
Incoming students are classified into one of several tuition rates when entering Cincinnati Law — Ohio resident, non-resident and Northern Kentucky Graduate Metro. The Metro Rate enables graduate and professional students living in nearby Kentucky counties to attend UC at a rate equal to Ohio in-state tuition plus $120 per semester for full-time law students (up to 18 credit hours per semester). Kentucky counties whose residents are eligible for the metropolitan tuition rate are: Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton. Students residing in an eligible Kentucky county must initiate the metro rate review process through the University Registrar's Office by submitting a "Graduate Metropolitan Rate Application" and a legible copy of their Kentucky driver's license or Kentucky State ID verifying their residence in one of the eligible counties before the first day of classes.
In addition, the university also participates in the "Ohio GI Promise." Veterans of the U.S. Armed Services, their spouses, and dependents may immediately qualify for classification as Ohio residents for-tuition-purposes, if the veteran satisfies certain criteria.
