We welcome your interest in applying to the College of Law for our fall 2009 class. You will find the College of Law has a rich heritage and proud traditions. Throughout our 175-year history, graduates have been leaders of the bench and bar, served in senior governmental positions, been active in the public service community, and succeeded in business, academia and countless other fields. With a vision to be the premier small, urban, public law school in America, the college is focused on being nationally recognized for its excellence, relevance, and impact.
The size of the law school allows for small classes and a high degree of interaction with faculty and other students. The law school is located on the University of Cincinnati’s recently renovated main campus in Clifton, approximately 10 minutes north of the city’s central business district. This central location provides easy access to state, county, and federal courts, including the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. A charter member of AALS, UC was one of the first law schools to have a chapter of the Order of the Coif and to be approved by the ABA.
Each year, the University of Cincinnati, one of the leading national, urban, public, research universities, graduates 5,000 students, adding to the more than 200,000 living alumni around the world. UC is the largest employer in the Cincinnati region, with an economic impact of more than $3 billion. Our campus has undergone a renaissance in recent years as well, causing the New York Times to proclaim it one of the most architecturally dynamic campuses in the United States. The University of Cincinnati is also a proud member of the Big East Conference.
Our deadline for Fall 2009 admission is March 1. Financial aid applicants are encouraged to file a FAFSA with the UC University Student Financial Aid Office (school code number 003125) by March 1, or as soon after acceptance as possible.
